261 Bulgarian children from foster families from 1 to 12 grade received backpacks with school supplies and kits, a gift from the leading telecom Mtel and the National Foster Care Association on the occasion of the school year start.
The foster parents in Bulgaria take care mainly for children in school age. Nearly 40% of children in foster families are aged 6 to 14, 30% are babies and toddlers under 3 years, only 10% are teenagers, and 20% are in pre-school age.
The campaign “Bike for Waste, Bicycle for a Child” is organized for a third year in a row and this year it aims at reaching more children.
The National Foster Care Association, together with their friends from Holiday Heroes and Huawei, provided with tablets 10 young people from foster families.
12 scholarships will be given to children in foster care from 7th to 11th grade, whose grade point average at school is Very Good and have few unexcused absences.
The National Foster Care Association organized a ninth camp for young people in foster care. During the first of the traditional two annual camps for young people they discussed topics related to self-confidence, self-esteem, emotional adaptation, etc.
