Beholder of the prize „Mother’s heart“ is the 220th member of the National association of foster care
Zdravka Manolova, foster parent of two children, received the prize „Mother’s heart” for 2012 г. The prize was given to her by the governor of the district in a sign of gratitude for the work and efforts of the acting foster parents in the area of Sliven.
„I’m becoming a member of our association, I say our, because this is the organization of all foster parents, because I want to know everything that’s new, to help and communicate easier with other foster parents” shares mrs. Manolova who gave her membership application on 12.02.2014.
Zdravka Manolova is a foster parent since year 2011. She takes care of siblings, settled in her house from the Home of abandoned babies. About foster care she learned from the television. Along with her foster children, her biggest joys in life are her grandchildren almost the same age as the foster ones.
„I love my foster children, because they are innocent. Whatever they do- they do it with no hidden thoughts of meanness or spite.“ says Zdravka Manolova. In her opinion the biggest problem of foster care is the tough communication and the quiet envy from the social workers of the State’s child protection services. „There are social workers who constantly count the crumbs of the foster parents. For them- we receive too much money. A while ago a social worker asked me if I knew how much money a colleague of mine gets, foster mother, taking care of three children one of which is with disabilities. I asked her if she knows how big responsibilities this woman has” adds mrs. Manolova.
Welcome amongst us, Zdravka!
