Exciting and emotional high school prom for 14 graduates
14 graduates from foster families has their exciting and emotional high school prom thanks to the National Foster Care Association and Mtel. The telco managers have provided the youths with prom suits and donating personal funds to guaranteed the teenagers an unforgettable festive evening.
Mtel and National Foster Care Association representatives, the youths and their families gathered at a special dinner on the occasion of the prom. During the event the young people has the opportunity to personally meet their donators, talk to them and tell them about their future plans.
Special guest at the event was Tomislav Donchev, Deputy Prime Minister, who wished ‘Good luck!’ to the teenagers. ‘Do not be afraid to fall - sometimes after a fall guy stands up and makes the strongest attack. Besides strength, however, a balance is also needed. But most importantly, never forget that belief in yourself is stronger than nuclear fuel’ he also added.
‘For me the meeting with the graduates is very important and emotional because these young people grew up in front of my eyes. In the last 7 years the National Foster Care Association helps the future to happen. When we saw them for the first time, they were aged 10-11. They were together with us at camps, trainings, events and youth initiatives. So I believe in the power of foster care and the meaning of it is to invest in childhood’, states Miroslav Dolapchiev, foster parent and National Foster Care Association Chairman. He expressed special thanks to Vera Kolesheva and Elka Nalbantova which are among the founders of the Association and also attended the event. Vera Kolesheva continues to support the organization by consulting difficult cases of foster parents and supervised the work of psychologists and social workers of National Foster Care Association.
‘It is common believe that companies donate to advertise. If today's evening turns into an emotional memory for you and if after time you are talking about us like friends, then we have managed to make the most meaningful advertising of Mtel’, said Iliana Zaharieva, Corporate Communications Director of Mtel at the evening opening.
A special musical surprise was prepared for the youths. The ‘Virginia Records’ artists -- Mihaela Marinova and the Ivo&Plemn duo took part at the celebration charitably. Special greetings for the graduates from 2016 class were their music hits ‘Haven't you had enough?’, ‘Step forward’, ‘24/7’ and ‘2x2’. The stars from X Factor took pictures with everyone and gave dozens of autographs for fans.
The award ceremony of the foster mother Ginka Ilieva from Shumen become another emotional moment of the evening. She managed to graduate high school in parallel with caring for her children. ‘Thanks a lot to Mtel and National Foster Care Association. All your effort is not in vain because it affects our lives’, she said.
