Mtel’s Clients Can Now Donate to Foster Care in all Company Stores
The clients of the mobile operator Mtel can now make a donation at the pay-desk in the company’s stores. The proceeds will go to the “Fostering the Future” project, which Mtel is running for the third year in a row. The funds will be donated to the National Foster Care Association, which is a partner of the campaign in support of children living in foster families. The donation can be made upon payment of customers’ outstanding bills or shopping at one of the 200 Mtel stores throughout Bulgaria.
Until now, clients could make their contribution in special donation boxes, placed in the shops. This method of collection yielded over 7000 BGN in support of foster children in only 6 months. The sum was doubled by Mtel and given to the National Foster Care Association.
Apart from the funds gathered in the donation boxes, Mtel also donates 1 BGN from the sale of each of the 30 most sought-after smartphone models on offer. The campaign will run for all of 2014. Mtel will also make foster care the charitable cause at its Business Client Christmas Party by donating a fixed sum for each guest to attend the event.
“We are sincerely grateful for the support of the clients and employees of Mtel, who helped to promote foster care and gather fuds for the children, whose lives are often full of obstacles and difficulties. The money gathered will be invested in activities, supporting the development of children and youth through informal education and inclusion in social activities. Another portion of the funds will go toward initiatives aimed at making foster care a desirable cause and activity in Bulgarian society through public awareness and improvement of current practices in the system.”, stated Miroslav Dolapchiev, the chairman of the National Foster Care Association.
