NAFC recommends recruiting foster parents according to the actual needs of the children in the community

The third National voluntarily informational campaign supporting the foster care called “Everyone cares” had begun. Organized by the Bulgarian Youth Red Cross (BYRC) this campaign includes 83 cities and 24 districts in the country.

National association of foster care supports the campaign and points out that there must be professionals of foster caring in the territory in each district helping the BYRC delivering useful information about children in need and the practical steps of becoming a foster parent for these exact groups of children.

“More and more campaigns are motivating people to become foster parents but the lack of information about the children in need on a local level make premises for a very long waiting in search for the right child, thus demotivating foster parents. We have to be honest with them about what children need caring in the area to not make unrealistic expectations.” says the chairman of NAFC Miroslav Dolapchiev.

NAFC wishes luck to the friends of BYRC and is available for support on local levels in this campaign, adds mr.Dolapchiev.

“Everyone cares” will be done with the cooperation of 88 organizations and institutions engaged with foster care. 42 of them are districts, partners with the Agency of social support in the project “I too have a family”. BYRC will have close relationships with names like the foundation “For our children”, “The institute for social services and practices”, the International social service- Bulgaria, the association “Samaritans”, etc. The campaign will be given attention from over 150 regional online and printed media.
