A work meeting of the coordinators and members of the board of the National association of foster care took place in Sofia on 21st, 22nd and 23rd of February 2014. The meeting attended the coordinators Svetlozar Rusev, Polia Ivanova, Ginka Ilieva, Galia Marinova, Yordanka Shafer, Ilia Iliev, Tzvetelina Miloslavova, members of the board of NAFC Miroslav Dolapchiev, Maria Blagoeva and Alexander Milanov.

During the meeting were discussed problems with NAFC’s development in the upcoming 2014 and the development of the foster care itself. In time of the general meeting of the organization in April, NAFC will introduce to its members ideas for solving problems about adopting children who went through foster care.

Also suggestions for changing the foster care’s practice and upgrading the dialogue between the foster parents and social services.

There will be preparations for updating Foster care-commissions’ activities, better profiling the foster parents, managing the civil job contracts and establishing basic criteria for foster parents. NAFC ensures all of its members that suggestions will be discussed along with foster parents before being showed to the responsible institutions.
