The NFCA Will Advise the State Policy for Child Protection Until 2018

The National Foster Care Association will be part of the National Child Protection Council, which is an advisory body of government child protection policy at the State Agency for Child Protection.

The council advises the Chairman of the State Agency for Child Protection about the development and implementation of the National Strategy for Children and the National Programme for Child Protection, the policy programme of the agency and the synchronization of legislation in the field of child protection. The task of the council is to propose, discuss and coordinate the strategic priorities in state child protection policy and to coordinate the financial resources needed for their implementation. Before its submission to the Council of ministers for voting members of the board express preliminary views on draft legislation containing decrees concerning children’s rights.

"It is a privilege for the NFCA to participate in the making of decisions for the children of Bulgaria by monitoring the implementation of the objectives for the protection of childhood at a national level. We will stand on the side of children and strive to ensure a safe, protected and family based environment for Bulgarian children." - commented Miroslav Dolapchiev, president of the NFCA.

The NFCA will be part of the National Council for Child Protection until January 1, 2018.
