Twelve Students from Foster Families to Receive Scholarships for Talent Development

12 scholarships will be given to children in foster care from 7th to 11th grade, whose grade point average at school is Very Good and have few unexcused absences. Three years ago, together with the team of BCause foundation, the National Foster Care Association founded the scholarships "Continue".

"The scholarship program "Continue" is very important to our organization, because thus we show that children in foster families have numerous achievments, despite all the challenges they have had before the foster family. They are a reward for the efforts, the courage and the will for development, said Miroslav Dolapchiev, president of the National Foster Care Association.

"With these scholarships we give young people the opportunity to understand the meaning of trying hard and winning battles. They manage to motivate others and be their example, commented Yana Rupeva, Director of "Donations Pprograms" in BCause Foundation.

During the first year of “Continue” there were 10 applicants, who started their participation in the scholarship initiative with GPA Very Good (5.34). In the second year 7 of the students continued their participation in the program with higher results - GPA Excellent (5.55). The other three dropped out, however not because of poor results - two were in 12th grade, and one returned to his biological family. During the 2016/2017 school year NFCA is proud with two university students, who are already scholars within the program "Ready for Success" of BCause Foundation.
