Two Happy Foster Child Stories
Simeon and Petya two of the children for whom life would have been much sadder and greyer if they had not found their angels in the face of their foster parents and if they had not found the support of For Our Children Foundation.
Simeon has his own home where he enjoys love and affection for 5 years now. However, during the first years of his life he constantly suffered mental and physical abuse at the hands of his biological mother. After another beating, Simeon was dumped near a river and after he was found he was put in the care of a foster family. The love, which the family gave him helped him to overcome the stress and trauma caused by his experiences and gave him the childhood which every child deserves.
Simeon is 9 years old now and he is a wonderful boy. He practices taekwondo and is developing his skills in mechanics, his dream is to have his own car service one day.
The story of Petya also has a happy ending despite her difficult start in life. Petya is only 2 years old, but just like many other children left in the orphanages she has already been labeled as “mentally retarded”. When she went to the foster family she could not talk. However, thanks to the help provided by the social workers and her foster mother, Petya has been through many tests, which indicated that her retardation is actually physical and not mental and is a consequence from the time spent in the orphanage.
Only 6 months later, after intensive work with the child and the support of the social workers and foster mother, Petya can pronounce some words, communicate with other children and even goes to kindergarten. Petya’s happy childhood has already started and will continue in Germany where she will live with her adoptive family.
