World champion Jordan Jovtchev played football with youngsters from foster families

The two-time world champion in gymnastics Jordan Jovtchev played football with children and youngsters from foster families and fans from "Manchester United" fan club during a sports initiative, organized by the National Foster Care Association and the Bulgarian sunglasses brand "Kwiat". During the sports event nearly 50 foster children and young people from Sofia and the region underwent eye examinations.

"I am very glad that our youngsters had the opportunity, along with the fans of a great football team, to play in mixed teams, to experience teamwork and the sports enthusiasm of a fair play", said Miroslav Dolapchiev,  NFCA Chairman. "I have always supported initiatives that promote healthy lifestyle, particularly those related to children's health. I support the campaign for prevention of children’s visual problems, because when problems are discovered in time, one can react promptly ", said Jordan Jovtchev before the football matches.

"We, who are united by their favorite team, are also parents, who believe that children should have a safe and peaceful childhood. During their early years they have to learn to respect and love others. We believe that with today's initiative we touched the children and we showed them that they should not be afraid to be different", commented Emil Yordanov, Chairman of "Manchester United" fan club in Bulgaria. His boys showed dedication and friendliness during the mixed teams matches. The winners received sweatshirts with the logo of "Manchester" and the chance to negotiate future matches.

The focus of the campaign for prevention of children’s visual problems is on the link with sport. "We know that vulnerable children have less access to treatment and medical care. Together with the National Foster Care Association we have initiated eye care for children in foster care, because we want to invest in children", said Alexander Stamenov, Manager in the Bulgarian glasses brand "Kwiat".
