A1 and NFCA prepared 355 children from foster families with backpacks, notebooks and aids for the new school year

On the eve of September 15, 355 children from foster families in Bulgaria are ready for the first day of school with the support of NFCA and A1. 39 of these  children are about to hear the school bell for the first time and start on the path of knowledge, 161 children are from the second to the sixth grade and 155 adolescents are in high school age - from the seventh to the twelfth grade.

Traditionally A1 and the National Foster Care Association (NFCA) organized a celebration for children in foster care, which this year was held in Haskovo. It was attended by 17 children and teenagers from Haskovo and the region, and they received their specially prepared backpacks with notebooks, educational supplies and teaching aids personally from Miroslav Dolapchiev, Chairman of NFCA, and Nina Nedelcheva-Georgieva from A1.

"Whether you are about to start first grade or are already a senior, I am sure the first day of school brings a lot of excitement. I know from experience that this is also true for your parents, for whom every step forward is a huge source of joy and pride. I believe that you will learn many new and useful things about letters, numbers, history and nature, as well as about the technology that we at A1 are working hard to develop. On behalf of all my colleagues at A1, I wish you a happy and successful new school year," said Nina Nedelcheva-Georgieva from „A1 Bulgaria”.

"Foster care saves childhood and creates individuals. I am happy that this year I see grown up children who are safe, are loved and go to school, so that they can be useful to our society, and why not - to save lives", said to the children and parents the foster parent and chairman of the National Foster Care Association - Miroslav Dolapchiev.

The celebration on the eve of the school year is part of A1's long-standing support for NFCA initiatives aimed at providing a positive family environment for more children in the country. A1's investment in the cause of foster care in Bulgaria for the last 10 years. The company supports annual national camps for foster children and teens, provides educational supplies for foster students, and older foster youth receive career counseling. In recent years, special graduation dinners for foster children, ceremonies for contributions to foster care and annual foster parent meetings have been organized.
